Mammals of Grassy Woodlands: Past and Present

I’m currently working on a new artwork series for a solo show at Goulburn Regional Art Gallery. The show opens on 31 August 2018. Staying within the ecosystem of grassy woodlands, I’m now focusing on Australian mammals. My research has been generously supported by the Friends of the National Library of Australia Creative Arts Fellowship 2018. Here is a study I did last year in preparation for the show.

“Rufous Bettong (Aepyprymnus rufescens)”, 2017, 38.3 x 28.5 cm, Cyanotype on cotton rag

Upcoming Grassy Woodlands book

My Grassy Woodlands photography series will be published in book form this coming August 2018. This book is a collaboration with woodland ecologist Dr. Sue McIntyre, ANU Fenner School of Environment and Society Research Associate and former Senior Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO. We are currently writing and making our way through photograph selections. Sue is writing the introduction where she explains the ecological science underpinning the photograph series, and ecosystem restoration options for land owners and policy. The book has been made possible by the generous funding of the Capital Regions Landkeepers Trust.

Keep posted for book launch dates.
